Art Gets Unstuck-Up
What is Stuckism? A revolution waiting to happen, said The Times when the anti-anti-art non-movement emerged from London in 1999. Made with Stuckist integrity, this fast-paced de-mockumentary introduces the Stuckist Manifesto and four Melbourne members, providing a provocative insight to the controversial backlash against conceptual art.

Sarah Maple – I’m an edgy contemporary artist – Manchester festival
On the 5th July I stood in the window of House of Fraser all day wearing a Miss World costume and holding up various statements I wrote throughout the day. This was part of the Manchester Festival. Originally I wanted to display a poster in the window but HOF did not allow it. I handed out flyers instead which had no reference to HOF and were distributed away from the store. Nobody lost their job.
Why do people rate Tracy Emin's work?
She is the least talented artist I have ever seen.
Was it just ‘cool’ to like her when she erroneously won the Turner Prize?
Yes, each to their own. But there is surely a standard of technical ability you must posess before being declared ‘an artist’.
Be it that your skill is in composition, arrangement or craft.
Haz:- I saw that!!!! Totally sh1ts on Winehouse!
Dolly K:- I would not let her paint my ruddy fence!
If Tracey Emin took a dump and put it on a pedestal, would it be art? ?
Sorry to any fans of Miss Emin’s work out there…but, is it just me, or is it all a bit sh*t??? In fact, if she took a cr*p and displayed her excreta would she have sychophants telling her how innovative it was??
Do you think if I set fire to a (used) toilet roll and threw it out of a window, (and videoed it) I might have a chance with the Saatchi gallery?? Have their critics fawning over me telling me how progressive I was??? – at Least Hirst seems to have exhibited some half decent stuff (apart from his pickled animals) – by the way, not jealous, just baffled…
Hi Helmstock..for the record, I do appreciate art – real art – not some pretentious crap that supposedly illustrates ‘what the artist is really trying to say’…and by the way, I was not referrring to the unmade bed…I was referring to the BULK of Emin’s artwork.
Have you ever read ‘The Emporer’s new clothes’ (yes, it is a children’s story, but no – I do not read comics )…well anyone familiar with the story will know what my point is…nuff said (by the way…do you work at the Saatchi gallery??)
oh…and I do visit Galleries….I practically grew up in the Walker art gallery (Liverpool) and have had an interest in art ever since…friends of mine were doing their MA’s in fine art and they came up with some pretty ‘progressive’ stuff themselves…I lived in St Ives for a while too – well known for its artists (I had a lot of friends there who were artists)…each to their own though taste though eh? Now excuse me, my cats just been sick on the floor and thought I would photograph it….Turner Prize here I come….
